Belton celebration includes parade
Two days of Christmas on the Chisholm Trail festivities will include a tree-lighting ceremony, a popular holiday movie, a parade and an opportunity for local shopping. The fun starts Dec. 2 with a movie and the city tree-lighting. The movie — How the Grinch Stole Christmas — will be at 6 p.m. outside the Historic Bell County Courthouse, 101 E. Central Ave. The tree-lighting ceremony will be held in front of the courthouse immediately after the movie. Vendors, food trucks and a visit by Santa Claus are on the agenda for Dec. 3. The market begins at noon with booths lining downtown streets, a Kid’s Zone with inflatables, food trucks, live holiday music and a parade. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the courthouse to visit with kids and for photos. The Christmas on the Chisholm Trail Parade will start at 6 p.m. and travel down Penelope Street from the Nolan Creek Bridge to 2nd Avenue.
