OUR TOWN TEMPLE
The city of Morgan’s Point Resort seeks comments from residents about quality-of-life issues and future growth in the community. The comments will be used in part to structure the city’s new Comprehensive Plan.
Surveys are available for residents in English and Spanish at https://www.morganspointresorttx.com through Jan. 9, or residents can stop by City Hall to fill out a paper survey. A computer is available in the Morgan’s Point library for those who want to take the survey online but don’t have access to access at home.
Those taking the survey will be able to reflect on the existing character of Morgan’s Point and give their visions for the city’s future. The completed Comprehensive Plan will be a document that guides the city forward, ensuring that future generations will be drawn to and continue to thrive in the city.
“We invite our residents, business leaders and community stakeholders to complete the Comprehensive Plan Community Survey,” said Mayor Dennis Green. “Your input will help us plan the future of our city.”
“We appreciate our entire community taking the time to share ideas on how we should grow and develop,” Green said.
The Comprehensive Plan, authorized by the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 213, reflects local community values and balances the interrelationships of economic, environmental, and social quality of life. Elements of the plan include land use, transportation, community facilities, housing, economic development, parks and recreation, open space, utilities and stormwater, and sustainability.
“The Planning and Zoning Commission members look forward to reviewing the survey responses from our community,” said Becky Cooley, chair of the commission. “The feedback received on priorities and preferences on future development, community values and needs will be incorporated into our Comprehensive Plan vision and goals.”
